LET'S GET IT ON!
i woke up early this morning hoping to beat some of the expected loooong lines at the polls. the weather outside here was beautiful and perfectly fall-like. here's me on my walk to the school where i was to vote...
i got to the school at around 8 o'clock. i must have beaten the crowds because there was no line at all when i got there. there were maybe 6 voters in the whole room, which i think is usually used as a lunchroom. anyways, into the booth i went...
i was happy that they were still using the oldass machines from the 30's or whenever. they are so cool. and indestructible looking. my great grandparents probably voted on machines like these.
so, at long last, here's the big moment for anthony:
there wasn't much more to vote on here...pretty much just the president and a senator and a few judges.
and then it was time for the final pull of the lever...
voting 2004 completed!
by the time i came out of the booth, the lines were starting to form with a steady stream of folks coming in. it's such a cool thing. you could just feel the excitement/optimism in the air.
another cool thing is being in a grade school hallway again. i can't remember the last time i have been in one.
after i left the school, i had plenty of time to get to work so i decided to go for a walk in my neighborhood for a while because it was so nice out. eventually i made into the city and to rockefeller center. wait, i mean "democracy plaza". apparently it's been renamed by NBC. it's so funny.
there are big electoral vote counters and a fake washington memorial and all sorts of insane stuff. and of course media folks everywhere....
now i am at work checking and re-checking news sites and polls and i can see how today is going to be the most unproductive day ever. i just hope to be able to go out tonight and have many celebratory victory drinks. my fingers are crossed....
i hope all of you out there are going to step into the booths today as well.
you probably are.

Good work tony! I miss voting at edison elementary school (my alma minor) in my parents neighborhood. Last time I voted I had to vote at the auditorium by the police station.
