the gates (almost)

so, being a sculptor and all, it would be bad for me not to comment on Christo's new project 'the gates' in central park.

i think that at first it's really easy to dismiss or hate this project for quite a few different reasons, but once you are actually looking at it, it's pretty great. and by pretty great, i mean totally insane.

right now, they are still finishing up installing all of the gates. tomorrow they will unfurl the cloth curtains, completing the work. i wanted to see it as it is now, and then go back once it's finished. so...
