ho ho ho!

hey everybody! merry christmas!!

i just woke up. actually, my dog just woke me up by jumping on my bed until i woke up. everyone else is still sleeping so far. i am like a kid now, waiting for them to rise so we can get to opening the gifts.

looking outside behind my mother's house, there are huge, fat snowflakes falling down and it all just looks so amazingly perfect. damn minot rules.

anyways, last night i opened presents and had dinner with my pops' side of the family. it was fun. i got some good booty, some of which will be put to use here down the road.

i will do a big fat minot style recap at some point here so you all know what's been going on as i'm sure you are dying to know. but not right now.

right now, it's time to put the coffee on and set the wrapping paper a' flying.

happy holidays,
anthony

weather report: no snow

day 1 in minot. i am here. i am tired. i haven't slept in two days. had a fun christmas party in the east village last night. now i am in north dakota. i just watched my little brother play a hockey game. i also had hashbrowns. still no sign of dave eide. i think i am going to take a nap now. and watch cable tv.

i will write more when i am not seeing things due to sleep deprivation....

tyra banks is a damn fool

jesus.

ok, i'll get it out of my system now.

last night was the finale episode of america's next top model. it's pretty much the only tv show i watch for some reason (maybe it has something to do with watching pretty girls make jackasses out of themselves?). to make it even better, this year there was even a girl from minot on it. she actually did pretty well, too.

long story short, every year i have a favorite. this year it was amanda.

she is almost blind. she is sassy as hell. she didn't win.

dammit.

in a travesty of tyra banks-ian proportions, she was voted off last night, taking third place. the winner ended up being the super annoying and NOT hot eva. in protest, i won't watch another episode of antm ever again.

until next season probably.

secret santa day

well, today was the office secret santa exchange. awww yeah, don't be jealous. we did it at this new "irish bar" across the street. it's called Channel 4 and it's about as crappy as it's name. it was free however so i'm not complaining.

you know, 4 years ago i would never have imagined myself ever being in this sort of situation at all. it's so weird. anyways, i received a $20 gift certificate to Virgin megastore. now i wonder whatever shall i buy?

maybe the first season of Arrested Development?

let me know if there is something that i absolutely must get myself.

thanks team.

i just became the snowball king

every winter since like 2000 or something, i take a little time out to play THIS GAME. it is super fun in a christmas-y sort of way.

just now was the first time i ever defeated it.

who's the mastah?

also, if i remember correctly, dave leaves London for the Magic City tomorrow. have a safe journey buddy!

see you sunday! maybe we can have a real snowball fight.

christmas past and present

so, here's another old one. actually, it's only from last year but since i can't stop thinking about playing hockey next week, here you go:

next wednesday is round two. this year my "little" brother is taller than me. plus he plays hockey about 320 days out of the year. i have to find a way to embarrass him.

also, last week was my office christmas party. as usual, it was a night full of free booze and food and strange conversations with co-workers. it's always fun though.

i dropped my camera while dancing and it smashed open and batteries went flying everywhere. somehow though i was able to snap it back together and all seems to be well. maybe that was a christmas miracle.

last night i finally saw the Pixies. it was the second show of their NINE show run at the Hammerstein Ballroom here. they rocked. it was fun but strange to see them. and i am getting really sick of nyc crowds who don't ever dance or jump around or even touch each other at shows. are we that jaded?

probably.

ugh.

ok, it's lunch time and i am starving. more later...

on the 10th day of christmas...

this is exactly why i love going home.

snow.

when it snows here in new york, it's great for about 1 hour. then everything turns slushy gray and ugly. i hope there is 4 feet of snow when i go home. i have fallen in love with snow blowing and shoveling. i guess it's because i only have to do it 10 days out of the year as opposed to the 7 months i had to do it while i lived in north dakota. i shovelled this driveway countless times. now my little brother does it. HA HA HA HA HA HA....

ok, now i am going to do a bit of shopping for my outfit for tomorrow's office christmas party.

get ready for that y'all. get ready....

the most wonderful days of the year

ok, so only 12 days to go until i am in minot! i obviously can't wait...

taco johns!
dairy queen!
dakota lounge!
posiedon's adventure!
$3 pitchers!
barley pop party!
hockey!
holiday socials!
hot toddies!
dave eide!!
snow!
clean air!

in preparation, i am hunting for good holiday music. does anyone out there have any links to any good sites? right at this moment i am listening to the charlie brown christmas album and it just kicks ass.

also, i thought it would be fun (and mildly embarassing) to revist some memories of christmas past. i'll try to post one every day or so.

here's the first one:

look at that foppish dandy! i would have been handsome if it was the late 18th century perhaps. o well. this was taken in december 2002 in rockefeller center.

i love ice skating

it is the best thing ever. i am glad that i grew up skating all winter, every winter.

speaking of winter, you guys remember alex winter? the guy from bill and ted's excellent adventure (not keanu)...my friend libby and i were talking about him last night. didn't he have a show on mtv way back when? does this ring a bell with anyone?

i miss him. he needs a good comeback role.
