saturday night i went to see the fiery furnaces play at the bowery ballroom.
jesus.
it was the second time that i had seen them. the first was at this thing called the Siren Festival at Coney Island this summer.
that day they were plagued with technical problems the whole set so it was pretty distracting. luckily that wasn't the case this time. they kicked ass.
when they play live, they completely rearrange their songs so that they sound totally different from the record. they also play them as one big medley, never stopping in between songs.
i am obsessed with their new album.
i am also obsessed with eleanor fiery furnace.

Uh oh, isn't she dating a Franz Ferdinand?
I really like their last album but this new one isn't my thing. I know the critics are drooling themselves to sleep at night with it, but it's a little too over the top IMHO. I like the subtlety of the last one. That said, the live tracks I've heard from the album are an entirely different story. Maybe they should just release live tracks.
hmm anonymous, i really like the crazyness of blueberry boat. it is a super refreshing album that really grew on me after a few listenings.
plus i have to give it up for being former greenpointers (my bkln neighborhood).
Oh man, I'm always forgetting to sign my posts on blogger. I should really just set up an account so I quit doing that. But, y'know, I'll probably never do it.

ha ha...i hate you larry.
She's a cute indie chick. After talking to Larry though, I decided to check them out for myself...I think the band should be called Fiery Toys so all their instuments would burn up and they wouldn't make the rest of us non-hipsters suffer through anymore of their so-called music.
Wow, that was scathing...Sorry dude. She is a cute indie chick though but don't let that cloud your judgement. Your mind might turn to jelly after repeated listens while imagining yourself making out with her. It happened to me once while listening to Kylie Minogue. Boy, trying to remold your mind is a lot of work. Be careful Tony!
just because of you and larry's insolence on this subject, i am going to play the whole blueberry boat album while we play our 2nd annual hockey match.
it will be the most messed up game ever.
