i am listening to Public Image Limited's 'this is not a love song' right now.
it totally rules.
that is such a weird band though.
minot folks: remember that guy 'skater dave'? that skinny guy from high school.
i have no idea why i just thought about him, but to continue the game of memory leap frog...
thinking of him reminds me of chris burnett, which leads me to wishing that i had some Cheese (or did they spell it 'Cheeze'?) songs, which reminds me of watching chris's band (furnace maintenence?) practice at thier crazy practice space in edmonton, which reminds me of going to this party at this house afterwards where i first heard and fell in love with david bowie's Hunky Dory album, which then reminds me of my ex-girlfriend victoria, which then makes me think of going to regina to hang out with todd's old girlfriend andrea and not buying a delay pedal at this guitar store, which then reminds me of kenosee waterslide park, which reminds me of crazy tom hettelston(?), which leads me to drew bon and how he gave todd a dollar bill that was signed by mike watt the night that drew moved away, which reminds me of the EPIC battle of mercy or whatever it was that they were playing that night , and then on to when we stole that dwight yokam cutout from musicland at the mall, and then onto larry's old buick which was totally awesome.
swhew, i am going to go lay down now...

I loved riding in that buick. We used to go smoke pipes just outside of town (tobacco road) until this one time a farmer drove up and took down all our license plates. I don't think anything happening to any of us except for drew who was brought into some military police room and interogated over the matter. Farmer Brown apparhently informed the athorities that we were smoking pot. I guess since drew was an airforce kid he was a drug dealer. I also remember that everytime it rained the floor boards of the buick would be flooded with water and if you were in the back seat every so often a zip lock bag of tobacco and a pipe would be swimming in water.
That car rulled. I'll stop now.

aaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. memory lane! i remember renae torno having a huge crush on skater dave when we worked at the state fair at a burger and fries place. that must have been after 9th grade. and i think it was jen s who dated the littlest of the burnett boys, matt. and drew bonn. yes, dated him before i started dating jay. what was up with that weird horseshoe club? and what was that band that brent made videos for? i think they played one of our first shows at the minot state univ. ballroom before the golden gym and any other steady venue. remember a show at the international inn and at the elks... how about our clothing swap at roosevelt park? reading about andrea from canada takes me way back, too. i was a senior then and did a slideshow for photography on HAIR... had a picture of her and one of that redhead guy from canada, trevor maybe? a little later on... remember mike holmes' laugh? maybe i'm getting a little ahead of myself. i'll regress to when i asked dave to homecoming my 10th grade year. it was pretty uneventful, wasn't it mr. eide? =) no wild tales to tell about that. he maybe learned about my dad's obsession with taking tons of pictures, but that could be a distant memory =)

and every girl had a thing for drew bonn. i think it was the "almost accent" he had going on.
i think jen and i actually met drew, mir, and tom (was hettleston the one in my grade with red hair, from colorado?) at the international inn show just before school started when you guys were all seniors. i wasn't aware that drew was hot property! we didn't have a hugely deep relationship... a lot of... "studying" went on...
anyone remember the name of the dark haired guy who hung out with trevor cobb, james boyd, and mike holmes? was it jeff?
anyone remember steve moberly? the shows with i spy from canada? propaphandi, the grups, huggy bear, j church?
tony-- do you know where vicki ended up? i remember when she was dating angel and we thought she was the coolest person around. of course, we were younger and didn't even know her at that point =)
OMFG Todd. You're out. Hand in your shoe immediately. Someone will be there in a bit to take you for a "ride."
